Studying the Bible as an Open Source Project

Studying the Bible as an Open Source Project

Proverbs 11:14 When there is no skillful direction, the people fall; but there is salvation in the multitude of counselors.

A Knowledge database is a repository of dynamic information about a particular subject. It can often be seen as a mapping of Problems and Solutions, Questions and Answers.

We learn by increments and decrements and that is one of the reasons we should have a database reporting all our developments in relation to a specific knowledge or idea.

Any institution that seeks accuracy of its knowledge and projects strives to maintain a knowledge base or history of its developments.
We need to register not only the successes but also the errors or “bugs” in order to increase experience and wisdom.

It is a sort of "logbook". All major projects in all kinds of knowledge are kept in a Knowledge databases. For instance, in the area of software:

One special feature of such projects is the fact that they are open source. This means that anyone can contribute to it. It is Open for anyone.
The author of this site adopts the same methodology in the analytical study of the Scriptures: it is public and open to anyone.

The aim of this paper is to examine the Scriptures under the scrutiny of logic, considering the Truth found in the Bible as an exact science

So keep in mind these two premises while contributing:

  • There can be NO contradictions (1 Timothy 6:20)
  • There must be NO interpreted twofold (Ezekiel 12:24)

We aim to model the Scriptures as a relation or function uniquely or accurate.

As the Scriptures is a book that should be kept open for all people,I understand that any study or analysis in the Scriptures should have this same feature: being open to all, public – open source

Transparency is one of the characteristics of the God's dealing with us.
Ephesians 5:1
Therefore, become imitators of God, as beloved children

When studying the Bible there is no point in keeping things hidden

Luke 12: 2 But there is nothing carefully concealed that will not be revealed, and secret that will not become known. 3 Wherefore what things YOU say in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what YOU whisper in private rooms will be preached from the housetops.
